Mission Base Projects
Here you will find mission base projects that are needing a sponsor. We will be as flexable as possible to accommodate your sponsorship desires. Some may be more able to support a project financially, while others can provide the hands on labor and skills to bring the project into fruition. While others will desire to fund and build a project. Praise God!
Let us know what project you are able to take on and how, and we will pull together the details. Some projects and/or stages will be subject to prerequisites and scheduling. You can't come and build that second story if the ground floor isn't in yet :-)

Garage Doors / Main Entrance Project - Almost Complete

This project will convert the two door garage into a main entrance / office area. The finished project will convert the garage into an area which will serve as the main entrance for arriving groups, a mission base office and an area for displaying base souvineers and t-shirts. Thanks to the teams from Lac la Biche and Sherwood Park, both in Alberta Canada, this project is nearing completion. We still need to install lighting, the bi-fold doors and a little trim, but for now the room will have to go back to it's old use as a place for storage until we have the new storage/apartment building in place. This will be the next project on the schedule and we hope to be making progress on it's construction early next year.

Front Gate Welding Project - Updated
|
This small but important project involves re-constructing the front gate entrance to the mission base. For those who have visited with us know, the difference in grade between our driveway and the sidewalk can create an awkward moment, and/or spinning of tires, while backing out of the property. We would like to take a little off the bottom of the gate to make room for concrete bringing the driveway up to grade. At the same time re-building the gate stronger and more secure with a better locking system. As you can see in the photos the gate is already in great need of repair. Wouldn't it be great to have a custom made, artistic, VCI logo integrated into the gates. If you are a welder and have been looking for an opportunity to serve... this one's for you!
Please consider supplying all the materials and labor when taking on this project. The gates span just over 17 feet and are about 8.5 feet high in the middle.
Could be a great weekend in Ensenada.

**PROJECT UPDATE**
Thanks to Richard Lebrun and helpers from the Grande Prairie team in July, the gates were raised and patched up. This has enabled us to make repairs to the driveway. We broke out a five foot wide section of concrete in order to pour a new slab up to the level of the sidewalk without having any thin spots of cement. This has made a huge difference in the comings and goings here at the base. PTL!
